"BAIT AND SWITCH: I was quoted a home owners insurance price and paid the full premium to switch. The Karis insurance agency pulled a bait and switch after a few months and demanded I transfer my auto insurance or pay a penalty."

"Lisa, Lupe, and Chris are friendly and polite staff members who are always willing to help and address any questions or concerns. I was involved in a hit-and-run accident on September 4th, where my parked Toyota was hit. I reached out to them for guidance on filing a claim and navigating the app to review my policy, and they were incredibly helpful throughout the process. However, I believe the State Farm claims department needs significant improvement. It was extremely difficult to get updates on my car, which has now been deemed a total loss. As a paying customer, I expect better communication and quicker responses. Additionally, I felt the settlement amount for my car was too low. While I understand that depreciation occurs after an accident, Toyota cars are known for their reliability, and mine, which I’ve had for nearly five years, is still in excellent condition, except for the bumper, which needs replacement. According to the claims department, since it's an older car, they declared it a total loss. I sought a second opinion and was told the damage could be addressed with a cosmetic repair. I’ve included a picture of my car to show that, aside from the damaged bumper, it is still in great condition. As you can see, the car is driveable, and the damage is primarily cosmetic. Despite this, the claims department has deemed it a total loss due to its age. I believe a more realistic approach, with an option for a cosmetic repair rather than declaring it a total loss, would have been more appropriate. The visual evidence speaks for itself, and I hope this encourages better communication and solutions for customers in similar situations. The claims process could be improved by providing more realistic estimates and faster responses to inquiries. The settlement amount I was offered—around $5,000—was essentially the same as the cost of repairs, which I found disappointing. Since my car is still drivable, I would prefer the option to repair it at a lower cost and receive a better settlement that would allow me to afford both the repairs and the potential purchase of a used car. I’m giving five stars to this agency and its staff—Lisa, Lupe, and Chris deserve recognition for their excellent service. However, for the claims department, I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars, or even 0.5 out of 5, due to the communication and settlement issues. I hope that someone can take a closer look at my case because the amount they are offering for my settlement is ridiculously low, given the condition of my car. I believe that with a more reasonable approach, this situation could be resolved fairly for both sides."
